Melchior Vidot joined the bench in May 2016. He studied at the Seychelles College and the Seychelles Polytechnic before being granted a scholarship to study law in the England. He read law at the University of Buckingham where he obtained his LLB degree.
In 1991 he joined the Attorney General Chambers where he worked as an assistant state counsel, then upon being called to the Bar, as state counsel. He was also appointed Assistant Official Notary and later Official Notary.
After spending some 9 years with the Attorney General Chambers he moved to the private Bar to work with the Chambers of Pardiwalla Twomey Lablache for about 7 years. Thereafter he moved to the Judiciary where he occupied the post of Master and Registrar of the Supreme Court and Registrar of the Court of Appeal. He then moved to Appleby Corporate (Seychelles) for 1 year. He set up his own chambers prior to joining the bench.
