Brigitte Confait graduated from the University of Mauritius with a degree of Bachelor of Laws with Honours in August, 2005. She completed the Seychelles Bar Examinations in November, 2011, and was called to the Seychelles bar as an attorney at Law in November, 2014. She completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Maritime Studies with the University of Wollongong, Australia in September 2016.
Brigitte was until recently a Senior State Counsel with the office of the Attorney General of Seychelles where she has worked for a total period of eight and a half years. As Senior State Counsel, she conducted a number of complex criminal cases before the Supreme Court of Seychelles and several appeal cases before the Seychelles Court of Appeal. She has also conducted constitutional court matters as well as civil cases before the Supreme Court on behalf of the Government of Seychelles, given advice to Ministries and Governmental Departments and also done notarial work on behalf of the Government of Seychelles, amongst her other duties.
During her time at the office of the Attorney General, she has been a member of the Seychelles Broadcasting cooperation, Employment Advisory Board, the Estate Agent Board and was also appointed as the Chairman of the Appeals Board of the Seychelles Fisheries Authority.
She was appointed to the post of Magistrate on the 20th May 2019.
