The Tony Angelo Reading Room
The Angelo Reading Room is located in the Sauzier Library of the Supreme Court. The reading room recognizes the significant contributions and ongoing efforts of Professor Anthony H. Angelo QC to the Seychelles legal system. Professor Angelo is an Emeritus Professor of the Faculty of Law at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. In addition to his work in New Zealand, he has been instrumental in the publication of laws for Seychelles’ legal community and public. He has assisted with the production of the Seychelles Law Reports, which were unpublished previous to his leadership, and the collation of the Court of Appeal, Constitutional Court and Supreme Court Judgments. His knowledge of the laws of Seychelles have contributed to the reform of the Seychelles Civil Code to align with the recently adopted Constitution and Charter of Fundamental Rights. To echo a sentiment he expressed in the editorial note in the second edition of the Seychelles Digest, the Angelo Reading Room is an appreciation of the reflection and study worthy of Seychelles Law.
