Chinese Ambassador Mrs GUO Wei was also present as a key representative for the signing, and shared a few words at the event on the importance of Seychelles – China bilateral relations.

The initiative to begin refurbishment of the building was brought on after an official visit by Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong, who made visits to various projects sponsored by the Chinese government. After visiting the Palais de Justice building in December 2019, proposals began for renovation works to take place.

This work will mostly consist of plastering and painting the façade of the building, which has suffered wear and tear over the years.

The Chief Justice Rony Govinden closed the ceremony with a vote of thanks.

Foreign Affairs and media representatives were in attendance
