The Judiciary has partnered with NATION newspaper, who is sponsoring a column each week, to help promote and raise public awareness on the various courts and people’s rights when bringing cases forward to the different Courts and Tribunals.

These include the Employment Tribunal, Family Tribunal, Juvenile Court, Rent Board, Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and Constitutional Court.

In addition, the column will also include tips and what to know when hiring a lawyer, applying for legal aid, and various complaints procedures when one is not satisfied with services provided to them by their lawyers.

The first column published on Thursday 3 December focused on rights when renting / leasing a place. The column can also be found on the NATION website.

The second column, published in Creole on Saturday 12 December, focuses on the Family Tribunal and its role.

These weekly columns will alternate between English and Creole content.
