Mr. Michel Valentin, Secretary of the Employment Tribunal, is retiring after dedicating 41 years in the Public Sector.

The Judiciary’s management team and Employment Tribunal staff hosted a farewell lunch for Mr. Valentin on Wednesday 16 March 2022 in honor of his service and to celebrate the time he worked at this institution.

Mr. Valentin joined the Public Service in 1980 at the Department of Finance as a Clerk/Cashier and moved up the ladder within the same Ministry as a Sub Accountant.  In 1982 he joined the Judiciary as a Clerk and during his 27 years’ of service at the Judiciary, he was promoted to the post of Assistant Registrar and subsequently to Senior Assistant Registrar.  He also performed duties of a Civil Status Officer from 1982 until 2004.

He was transferred to the Employment Tribunal, Ministry of Employment with effect 1st February 2009 in the post of Clerk to the Tribunal.  The Employment Tribunal was then transferred to the Judiciary of Seychelles as of 1st January 2015.  With further perseverance and commitment, Mr. Valentin was promoted to the post of Secretary to the Employment Tribunal with effect 4th May 2016 until now.

We thank Mr. Valentin for his tremendous work, loyalty and commitment during his years at the Employment Tribunal and wish him all the best for his future endeavors.

Management has identified Mr. Versange Atala as Mr. Valentin’s successor as Secretary of the Employment Tribunal.  Mr. Atala holds a degree in Law, Diploma in Management, Advanced level in Psychology among others and he is currently the Board Member of the Family Tribunal.  In addition, he mediates in Tribunal matters.  Mr. Versange Atala’s appointment into his new position will take effect on 25th April 2022.
