Mr. Brassel John Adeline and Mr. David Simon Esparon have been appointed as Judges of the Supreme Court with effect today Thursday 29 July 2021.
A swearing in ceremony took place this morning at State House in the presence of the President of the Republic Wavel Ramkalawan, President of the Court of Appeal Justice Anthony Fernando, and Chief Justice Rony Govinden.
Mr. Adeline served as Master of the Supreme Court since July 2018. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours from the East London University and a Post Graduate Diploma in legal practice from the University of Northumbria, England.Mr. Adeline has previously held positions in the Ministries of Education, Employment, Land Use and Housing. He has also served as Chairman of the Family Tribunal of the then Ministry of Social Affairs.
He was appointed Deputy Registrar General in 2007 and Magistrate in October 2009.
Mr. Esparon is a well known and respected lawyer, working in the Attorney General’s Office. He was most recently the Deputy General in the AG’s office.
Judge Adeline will now occupy Courtroom number 2 and Judge Esparon will occupy Courtroom 3; both are on the first floor of the Palais de Justice building.
