The Judiciary of Seychelles hereby gives notice that the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) for 2025 will commence on 14th April 2025.

The BVC is designed to provide graduates with a degree in Law (LLB. Hons.) with the necessary foundation in the Seychelles legal system and laws to enable them to adequately prepare for the Bar Examination. This is the examination all law graduates who desire to be admitted as Attorneys-at-Law to practice law in Seychelles are required to take. The Bar Examination will take place in November this year.

The Course teaches the 8 examinable modules, which include: 1. Civil Code of Seychelles Books II & III; 2. Property Law; 3. Evidence Law; 4. Seychelles Code of Civil Procedure; 5. Penal Code & Criminal Procedure; 6. Company/Commercial Law; 7. Constitutional & Administrative Law; and 8. Civil Code Book I (Family Law).

The lectures will run every day from 4.30pm – 6.30pm on Mondays to Fridays, and on Saturdays from 9am – 3pm. Each module will be taught for 2 hours per week. The lectures will run for 20 weeks, from April – September 2025.

The venue for the lectures is the Palais de Justice, Ile du Port.

Graduates of law possessing the required LLB. Hons. Degree and interested in becoming Attorneys-at-Law are encouraged to apply and register for the BVC with the Registrar of the Supreme Court by Thursday, April 3rd, 2025. The sign up forms can also be downloaded here.
