The Judiciary of Seychelles has officially launched its new Judiciary e-Service Platform, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to modernising court processes and improving access to justice through digital transformation.
The launch event brought together key members of the justice sector, including the President of the Court of Appeal, the Chief Justice, Justices of Appeal, Judges of the Supreme Court, members of the Attorney General’s office, State Counsel, legal practitioners, and other stakeholders.
In his remarks, the Chief Justice highlighted the Judiciary’s ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. He noted that the development of the e-Service platform reflects the institution’s long-term vision of integrating technology into its operations to better respond to public needs and global standards.
A Modern Solution for a Modern Judiciary
The new platform represents Phase One of the Judiciary’s digital rollout and introduces the following key features:

Online submission of written submissions, allowing legal practitioners to file documents remotely

Secure document upload

Integrated Visa and MasterCard payment options

Real-time digital receipts, user tracking, and transparent processing

Strengthened security measures, including HTTPS encryption, email verification, admin-level approvals, session timeouts, and secure storage

A dedicated admin panel with analytics, logs, and reporting tools
The system aims to reduce long queues, minimise travel time, promote paperless processes, and allow users — especially lawyers — to engage with the Judiciary more efficiently.
The launch included a live demonstration of the platform’s functionalities by Mr. Marcos Nyamanga, the Software Analyst from Switch – the company the Judiciary hired to create the platform. During the Q&A session, lawyers and other stakeholders asked a number of practical questions, particularly regarding user registration, document upload processes, payments, and future expansion of services. Their engagement reflected strong interest and readiness to adopt the new platform.
Attendees expressed appreciation for the initiative, and the launch was well received by partners across the justice sector, who noted the significance of this advancement for Seychelles’ legal landscape.
Building Toward Future Phases
The Judiciary emphasised that the platform’s rollout will be done in phases, with additional services to be introduced over time. The first phase focuses on streamlining the work of legal practitioners, while future phases aim to expand access for the wider public and further integrate digital tools into judicial administration.
The Judiciary reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing service delivery, modernising its systems, and embracing technology as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the rule of law and improve user experience.
